Polyester fabrics are prone to retaining thick stains and can turn yellow as it ages. But it can be safely dry cleaned and machine washed using warm water and mild detergent. Chlorine bleach can help you get rid of the tough stains without damaging the quality of the fabric. Adding ½ cup vinegar can help you retain the whiteness of white polyester fabrics.
Velvet- Velvet is not an independent type of fabric but is known as a structure of fabric that is made either from silk or rayon. It is durable, thick, and is extremely plush, and warm to touch. It is important to make sure that you get this fabric dry cleaned. In addition to strictly getting it dry cleaned, you should also never iron it.
Georgette- Georgette fabric, which is known to be a part of the crepe fashion family, is a woven silk textile and is used in designing bridal wear or evening gowns and dresses. The silk fabric is sheer and lightweight and has a dull, matte finish.
Georgette should not be machine washed at any cost. You can use mild detergent and cold water to hand wash this delicate fabric. Soak the garment for 30 mins and then squeeze and rinse thoroughly to remove the soap. Do not wring the item so asto avoid stretching and pulling.
